Located northwest of Tokyo at the foot of Mount Asama, the Karuizawa distillery has become almost legendary since its closure in 2000. This single malt from the last years of production is at its natural strength. Below Meguro (Shimo‐Meguro) was famous for the place where the shoguns hunted with a falcon. In the painting, the two falconers were standing on the pass‐way and discussing the direction while the farmers were taking care of the fields.
